Junior students and staff presented to the BOE on what Junior elementary is doing to improve proficiency. Each classroom presented to the board ways that their teachers and classmates are improving academic growth and providing a safe, family atmosphere at Junior Elementary school. Some of the items shared to the board were as follows: enrichment and skills building with technology, data analysis, personal goals setting, behavior/academic/attendance incentives, extra curricular activities, individualized targeted curriculum, and family involvement. The students invited board members to their third nine weeks awards day and ended by showing their JES commercial they made highlighting their school. Data coach, Pam Otto remarked what a good feeling it was to have the board room elbow to elbow with JES students, staff, and family to show support for Junior Elementary.
